about

The world is a messy, beautiful contradiction, and I'm here to document it from my little corner. My stories are like those movie theatre candies – sweet and colourful on the outside but with an unexpected kick that leaves you wondering if you just ate pop rocks or had an existential crisis.

After too many espressos, I write upper-middle-grade speculative fiction and romantic comedies that aim to make you laugh, cry, and do everything in between. I like stories that dance along the edge of paradoxes, exploring truths that can exist side by side.

The Faber Academy's Writing a Novel workshop helped me learn how to blend the extraordinary with every day in magical and familiar ways.

My interests aren't confined to the page. I accidentally joined an advanced rock and jazz choir with nothing but a karaoke background under my belt. And I'll admit, I have a soft spot for reality TV – a guilty pleasure I keep as close to my chest as my aunties secret chicken wing recipe.

Recently, I spoke at the InkWellTold reading series about balancing dualities in writing. It was a chance to dive into how we can craft stories that capture the complex tapestry of human experience.

When I'm not at my desk, you'll find me collecting moments with my family or gathering inspiration from everyday life. Or cat anecdotes. Like the time my oldest bought my Butterboy a fancy water fountain, only to find him still demanding bathroom sink water like it's the elixir of life. Spoiler alert: the fountain's now a very expensive white noise machine.
